We have some important updates to share, designed to enhance your Mobile Guardian experience, improving our Platform’s security, efficiency, and usability.
The enhancements bring significant improvements to password management, Android device enrolment, and some minor enhancements to the platform to assist for the changes.
Enhanced Password Management for Stronger Security
We've introduced an update to strengthen password security across the Mobile Guardian platform:
- District-Level Google Authenticator Enforcement: To help prevent unauthorised changes, we encourage you to enforce Google Authenticator settings at the District level. This provides an additional layer of security, ensuring consistent protection across all your managed devices.

- Smarter Password Complexity: Refinement to our password complexity rules, which introduces an intelligent password assessment to meet the highest standards. You may enter a common word as part of a longer password, and our validation process will ensure the overall password remains robust and secure.
-
Mandatory Password Updates for Continuous Protection: We have introduced mandatory password updates to maintain your security.
- First Sign-In: Upon the first sign-in, all users will be required to set a new, more secure password.
- Upcoming 30-Day Cycle: A new password will be required every 30 days across the entire platform.
- Google Sign-In Integration: For those who utilise "Sign in with Google," we have enhanced the security by ensuring that this action will invalidate any locally stored passwords for that user. This guarantees that only the most secure, actively managed passwords are ever in use.
Important Android 15 Enrolment Update
With the recent release of Android 15, we've made necessary adjustments to the AMA (Android Management API) Unregistered enrolment process to accommodate the changes in the new operating system.
- New Device-Specific Registration Code: We've introduced a unique device-specific registration code to facilitate seamless enrollment for Android 15 devices.
- Re-enrolment Required for Android 15 Devices: Please note that if you have an Android 15 device, or a device that has recently updated to Android 15, and previously enrolled, you will need to re-enrol these devices. This ensures they are fully compatible and managed under the updated framework.
- Impact on Lower Android Versions: Devices running Android 14 and lower versions should not be affected by this change. For any new Android 14 or lower devices you wish to enrol, you can still follow the familiar process, or you may also use the new steps now required for Android 15 enrolment.
We are committed to continually enhancing Mobile Guardian to provide you with the best possible device management experience. Should you have any questions or require assistance with these updates, please do not hesitate to contact our support team at Support Helpdesk
