Vacation Mode is an easy way for a school admin or parent to apply a no-tracking profile to a student's device. When Vacation Mode is applied the no tracking profile will be active and overrides any profile. (Find out more on how to set up your profiles here)
Vacation Mode is primarily used to quickly lock your device into a “No Tracking” profile without having to change any existing profile schedules. It is particularly useful when students use their devices while traveling abroad and changing time zones.
An audit log will display by who and when the vacation mode was toggled and when it was created, this can be viewed under the device history tab.
This option can be enabled by navigating from the School Admin dashboard to the Device page and selecting the Actions button. Here Vacation Mode can be applied to a bulk list of devices or an individual device.
The permission “Vacation Mode” can be controlled on the School Admin Dashboard.
Steps to enable “Vacation Mode”:
- Navigate to the Devices Tab
2. Select the applicable devices
3. Click the Actions Tab dropdown
4. Scroll down and click “Enable/Disable Vacation Mode”
To enable Vacation Mode for Parent Dashboard, it needs to be allowed by parent permissions on the school admin.
