Mobile Guardian uses profiles to manage the monitoring and control of devices. Here’s a step-by-step guide on how to set up and configure these profiles effectively.
Key Areas Managed by Profiles
- What: Configure what content and activities are monitored. Set these configurations in the Settings section.
- Where: Specify the locations where devices are monitored. Create locations in the Zones section and assign them to profiles.
- When: Define the time schedules for monitoring devices. Create schedules in the Time & Date Settings section and assign them to profiles.
- Which: Determine which devices are being monitored, such as home-owned or school-owned devices. Assign these devices to profiles in the Settings section.
Steps to Create and Edit Profiles
Access the Profiles Section:
- Navigate to the Profiles section.
- Click the Add Profile button to create a new profile or use the Pencil icon to edit an existing profile.
Enter Profile Details:
- Name: Provide a mandatory name for the profile.
- Profile Color: Optionally select a colour for the profile.
- Description: Optionally add a description.
- Clone Profile: Optionally choose to clone an existing profile.
- Baseline Profile: Select a baseline profile from the drop-down list.
Save the Profile:
- Click Save to create a new profile. The save option will only become available if all necessary fields are completed.
Configure Location Settings:
- Select a location from the Location drop-down menu.
- You can add multiple locations and schedules for a single profile.
#Note: Locations are created in the Zones section.
Set Schedule Settings:
- Expand the Schedule settings.
- Click the Add New Schedule button to open the Add New Schedule window.
- Enter a Schedule Name.
- Set the Duration for the schedule.
- Configure the Weekly Configuration.
#Note: Schedules can also be created in the Time & Date Settings section under Settings.
Assign Devices:
- Under Which Devices, choose whether to assign the profile to home-owned, school-owned, or all devices.
- Click Save.
Configure Device Management Settings:
- Under What, configure the device management settings for your new profile.
Finalising the Profile
After completing these steps, your profile will be created and ready to use. This profile ensures that devices are monitored and managed according to the specified locations, schedules, device types, and content restrictions.
