Let's jump in and see how Mobile Guardian can further improve your digital learning environments!
Live Screen View: Active Tab
Mobile Guardian Live Screen Views is the favorite child in our Learn solution, offering classroom management tools with a live screen view of students’ devices during a class.
This feature, the real crowd-pleaser that it is, is now available in a lightweight and more accessible form. Active Tab!
Active Tab provides the same functionality, but rather than providing a live stream of student device screens, screenshots are taken every few seconds to allow teachers to understand what content students are viewing but with a substantially lower payload requirement from a school or household's broadband.
Ensure students are online and focused, without overloading your internet network.
Disable Airplane Mode
Users can now disable the airplane mode function on student devices.
This prevents students from turning on and off airplane mode, which results in the termination of device connectivity. This behavior often disrupts the flow of classes and this news feature offers a quick and easy way to minimize friction during class.
After School Hours
Administrators can now grant Teachers the ability to run classes after school hours.
The school day can now be extended, allowing for after-hour classes to operate beyond the regular predetermined school schedule. Administrators can allow teachers to launch classes outside of the input school schedule.
This allows for evening or holiday classes, as well as after-hours activities for teachers and students, all within the secure, Mobile Guardian learning environment.
Update Self-Installed Apps
Self-installed apps may now be updated automatically by administrators, that is, all apps within the iOS catalog are updated.
Administrators are now able to update self-installed apps should students have installed apps at home or required an app for a particular class.
This feature ensures that applications remain up-to-date and safe for digital learning.
Web Filter Refinement
YouTube Web Filter
We have further refined the functionality of our Youtube Web Filter. Further nuance is now possible in regard to device access or restrictions to YouTube content.
These adjustments allow for additional customization of YouTube restrictions for easier and more intuitive use of Category, Channel, URL, and Keyword filtering.
This improvement allows for even more nuance in the creation of productive lessons and creating focused learning environments with Mobile Guardian.
Hierarchical Implementation of Web Filter
Implementation and execution of Web Filter logic have been further optimized.
The Web Filter implements its hierarchical logic of the design for a more sophisticated implementation of web filtering functionality.
We continuously work on fine-tuning and optimizing our Web Filter to create a tool for safe digital learning environments that allow schools to rest assured that students are safe and focused online.
Application Audit Logs
Easily export applicable audit logs of all application changes.
An audit log of the removal and addition of applications from devices may be drawn from the dashboard to gain a clear understanding of application management and changes.
Administrators can now review application changes to understand what activity may have caused any challenges with device applications or if students have removed an application from a device.
Limit Application Access Requests
Administrators may limit the number of pin attempts by students for blocked applications.
This limits the number of password attempts students may submit when attempting to access restricted applications.
Administrators are now able to prevent students from wasting time trying to decipher the blocked application pin.
Parental Controls Improvements
User experience improvements to Parental Controls assist users to create functional restrictions.
Should a new rule or restriction be added to a Parental Controls Dashboard that overrides or conflicts with an existing restriction the user will receive a notification informing of this conflict.
This ensures coherence and clarity in the application of rules and highlights any mistakes made in the set-up of restrictions for device management.
iOS Build-updates and Modernisation
Improvements and development of iOS build versions have been implemented in Mobile Guardian.
In the provision of a leading multi-OS mobile device management application, the modernization of build versions across our operating systems is constantly under development at Mobile Guardian.
This helps ensure that our software is full of relevant functionality for the modern classroom.
If you have any feedback on the release we’d love to hear from you.
We’ll keep you updated on any further releases in the near future.
Onwards!
