This article will guide you through setting up parent accounts and linking students and devices to these accounts. This process applies to any OS device, but for Chromebooks, ensure both students and devices are added to a parent account before sending the invite.

How to Invite a Parent to Mobile Guardian
- Login to your Mobile Guardian dashboard.
- Click on Settings.
- Scroll down and select Users.
- Select Invite User from the top right of the page.
- Enter the parent’s First Name, Last Name, and Email.
- Select the Parent slider to set this role for the parent.
How to Link Students and Devices to Parent Accounts
Before inviting the parent, ensure that students and devices are linked to the parent account.
#Note: If you have invited a parent to the school as per part 1, you can move to step 5 below.
- Login to Mobile Guardian.
- Select Settings followed by Users.
- Click the pencil icon below Actions to update the user.
- Under Roles, select the switch next to Parent to activate.
- Below the Parent Devices heading, fill in the relevant student information.
- While typing the name of the student, an instant search will occur, allowing you to select the name from the drop-down list.
- Keep refining your search until the relevant student and device are displayed.
- Click Add once you have selected the relevant student's name and device name.
If you are unable to find the student:- Select the Can’t find student? box.
- Type in the First Name & Last Name of the student to add the student.
- Once added, select their relevant device as described above.
- Click the Add button once student information and device are in place.
- If applicable, add another student to this parent.
- Once you’ve linked the relevant student(s) and device(s) to the parent account, click Invite.
The parent will receive an invitation email to verify their address, create a password, and login to their account.
(Optional) Downloading the Parent Email Template
Upon inviting parents, it is suggested to download the template document that can be sent to parents.
- Login to your school dashboard in Mobile Guardian.
- Click on Devices, followed by Link Home-Owned (BYOD).
- Click on Download Template where you can input your Unique School code found on the same page.
- The template will download as a .docx file.
- Once filled in, send it to parents, welcoming them to their Mobile Guardian dashboard.
- Provide parents with the steps required to download and install the Mobile Guardian app on their devices.
