Adding two-factor authentication (2FA) to your Mobile Guardian profile significantly enhances the security of your account. By requiring a second form of verification, you reduce the risk of unauthorized access, ensuring your data remains safe.
Getting Started
- Download Google Authenticator:
- Before enabling 2FA, download the Google Authenticator app on your mobile device. It’s available on both the App Store (for iOS devices) and the Play Store (for Android devices).
Enabling 2FA in the Mobile Guardian Dashboard
- Access Your Dashboard:
- Log in to your Mobile Guardian Dashboard.
- Click on your name in the bottom left corner of the screen.
- Navigate to Two-Factor Authentication:
- Scroll down and find the section labelled "Two-Factor Authentication: Google Authenticator."
Setting Up Google Authenticator
- Open Google Authenticator:
- Launch the Google Authenticator app on your mobile device.
- Tap the "+" button in the bottom right corner of the app’s home screen.
- Scan the QR Code:
- Choose the “Scan a QR Code” option within the app.
- Use your mobile device to scan the QR code displayed on your Mobile Guardian Dashboard.
- Enter the Code:
- After scanning the QR code, a 6-digit code will appear in the Google Authenticator app.
- Enter this code in the appropriate field on the Mobile Guardian Dashboard and click “Activate.”
Logging in with 2FA
- On your next login, you’ll be prompted to enter the Google Authenticator code.
- To retrieve the code, open the Google Authenticator app on your mobile device. The app will automatically generate a new code every 30 seconds.
#Note: If you attempt to activate 2FA without first scanning the QR code, you will not be able to access your profile. Ensure you complete the QR scan step before proceeding with activation.
