How to Update/Renew a VPP token

To ensure continuous access to your Volume Purchase Program (VPP) apps and media, you need to renew your VPP token annually. Follow the steps below to update or renew your VPP token.

Updating/Renewing Your VPP Token in Mobile Guardian

From Apple School Manager:

• Login to Apple School Manager
  • Open Apple School Manager and log in with your Apple ID and password.
• Navigate to Settings
  • Select "Settings" at the bottom left of the application.
• Access Apps and Books
  • Select "Apps and Books" from the settings menu.
• Scroll to Content Tokens
  • Scroll down to the "Content Tokens" section.
• Download the Token
  • Click on "Download" next to the server name for your school. 

The downloaded file will have a .vpptoken extension.

From Mobile Guardian Dashboard:

• Login to Mobile Guardian Dashboard
  • Open the Mobile Guardian Dashboard and log in. 
• Navigate to Settings
  • Select "Settings" from the menu.
• Go to iOS MDM Settings
  • Click on "iOS MDM Settings."
• Add an Apple VPP Account
  • Click "Add an Apple VPP Account" on the right side of the window. 

• Upload the New Token
  • Select "Token," navigate to the file you downloaded from Apple School Manager, and click "Open."
• Save the New Token
  • Click "Save" to update your VPP token. 

You have now successfully updated your VPP token for another year.
