As Google continues evolving its infrastructure, it will eventually deprecate support for Manifest v2 extensions. To ensure seamless compatibility of your ChromeOS devices with Mobile Guardian, please follow the steps below to update your settings within the Google Admin Console.
Steps to Configure Manifest v2 Settings in Google Admin Console
Open Google Admin Console and sign in.
From the Admin Console homepage, go to
- Devices
- Chrome
- and select Settings
Locating the Manifest v2 Setting
- On the right side of the screen, locate the search bar, and type Manifest v2.
This setting is under Apps & Extensions Settings.
Update the Configuration
- The default configuration is set to “Default browser behaviour.”
- To enforce Manifest v2 compatibility, click the Configuration option. In the dropdown, select Enforce force-installed Manifest v2 extensions.
#Note: This configuration can be applied at the top level to inherit across all organizational units (OUs) or directly at the device-specific OU for your school.
By following these steps, you can ensure your ChromeOS devices remain compatible with future Mobile Guardian updates.
