The process for removing Mobile Guardian from your devices varies by the operating system. Follow the appropriate steps below based on your device type.
Apple (AC2) Non-DEP
- Go to Settings > General > Device Management.
- Remove the remote profile from the device management section.
Apple โ DEP
- Manage the device via the DEP portal (e.g., move it to another MDM server).
- Factory reset the device to completely remove the Mobile Guardian MDM remote profile.
Android
- Remove Mobile Guardian as a device administrator from settings. Please consult your device manual for specific information.
- Uninstall the Mobile Guardian app.
- If prompted for a PIN, try the default pin.
- If using the school dashboard, a custom PIN may also be set in the Global Preferences or on the device information page.
Android EMM
- Factory reset the device. Note the current managed email address if using Google Workspace, as you must sign in with that email after the device wipe.
- You can perform the wipe either on the device or from the dashboard if the device is blocked.
- Remove or delete the device from the dashboard.
Android AMA
- Remove or Delete the Device from the Dashboard:
- Log in to your Mobile Guardian dashboard.
- Navigate to Devices > All Devices.
- Select the Device Information icon (eye) for the required device.
- Choose Actions and then Wipe.
- Once the device is reset, you can delete it by selecting the trashcan icon.
Chromebooks
- Manage the device via the Google Workspace portal.
- The removal process involves undoing the steps taken to put the device into Mobile Guardian.

macOS
- Go to System Preferences > Profiles.
- Remove the MDM profile. You will require the removal password found on the Global Preferences tab..
