This guide outlines the steps to effectively install applications on Mobile Guardian-managed devices using AMA Zero-Touch enrollment. Following these instructions ensures that only the desired applications are available on your devices while restricting unwanted ones.
Configure Google Playstore Mode:
To begin, set the Google Playstore Mode restriction in your device profile:
- Access the Device Profile:
- Navigate to the profile settings for the devices you wish to manage.
- Select the Restrictions option
- Navigate to the “Google Playstore Mode” drop-down menu
- Set Google Playstore Mode to “Blacklist”:
- Mode Options:
- Unspecified: Defaults to Whitelist mode.
- Whitelist: Only the apps listed in the policy are available, and all others will be uninstalled.
- Blacklist: All apps are available, and only explicitly blocked apps will be restricted.
- Recommended Setting: Select "Blacklist" mode. This allows all apps to be available by default, and you can specify which apps should be blocked.
- Mode Options:
Add Required Applications to the Whitelist:
- Navigate to the Application Option:
- In the same profile, locate the application options section.
- Create a Whitelist:
- Add the applications you need installed on the devices to the whitelist. These will be the apps that are automatically installed and available to the users.
Sync Profiles to Devices:
- Ensure Profiles are Synced:
- Once you've configured the Google Playstore Mode and added your applications, make sure the profiles are synced to the devices. This action pushes the policy updates to the managed devices.
Install Applications via My Catalogue:
- Access the My Catalogue List:
- On each device, users will now be able to access the applications through the "My Catalogue" list.
- Install Applications:
- Users can install the required applications directly from this list, ensuring that only the desired apps are available on their devices.
By following these steps, you can effectively manage and install applications on your Mobile Guardian-managed devices using AMA Zero-Touch, ensuring a streamlined and controlled deployment process.
