A geofence/zone is based on location and can be used when setting up your child's rules. Each zone’s location can be identified by house WiFi SSID, network IP range, or GPS coordinates. Follow these steps to create a zone.
Creating a Zone
- Navigate to the "Places" Section:
- Go to the "Places" section of your dashboard on the left menu.
- Select "Add New Place":
- Click the "Add New Place" button on the top right of the dashboard.
- Specify Zone Details:
- Enter a Zone Name (mandatory), for example, Home, Tutor's house, etc.
- Optionally, add a Description.
- Enable notifications if you want to be alerted when your child's device enters or leaves the location parameter.
- Choose Zone Type:
- Click "Add New" and select the type of zone you want to use:
- Coordinates (address or place on the map)
- Beacon
- Wi-Fi IP range
- SSID
- Click "Add New" and select the type of zone you want to use:
- Set Zone Coordinates:
- For this example, we will use Coordinates. Type an address or click a place on the map.
#Note: The radius of the selected location can be expanded from the default 400m.
- The location will be highlighted below.
- Add the Location:
- Click the "Add" button above to add the location as a zone.
- Create the Geofence:
- Now that you have added the zone, click the "Create Geofence" button.
- Select “Save Changes”
Your new geofence can now be found in the Places section and used when creating rules.
Congratulations! You have successfully created your first geofence, which is ready to be used in your rules.
