Part 6: Enrolling Your Android Device

Trigger Setup Prompt 

  • On a new or factory-reset device, tap the screen six times to prompt the device to scan a QR code.

 

Scan QR Code

  • Open the Mobile Guardian District dashboard, navigate to "Devices" > "Add Device,"  and select the Android tab.

  • Select your District from the Drop-down

  • You will be presented with a new window with the related QR code that you would need to scan. Scan the Android EMM Code.

Note:
Click the QR code to enlarge it if you experience difficulty scanning.
  • Connect to the required WiFi connection
  • The enrollment process will begin on the device
  • Select "Next" to proceed.

Setup Wizard 

  • Select Accept & Continue.

Environment & Device Naming 

  • The next screen displays the device's target Environment. 
  • Confirm the correct environment and select Next.

Google Services

  • Read and Accept the Google Services. 
  • Once accepted, the device will then be ready to continue after selecting Done.

Acknowledge Privacy Notices

  • Read and select 'Next' on all policy notifications that appear on the device.

 

Application setup completion

  • The student must name the device and check the box to acknowledge and accept the Mobile Guardian Privacy Policy and Terms. This will complete the device enrollment and application setup. 
  • Select Finish to continue.

Enable Required Permissions

  • Enable necessary permissions such as Usage Access and Application Display Permissions to ensure the app functions correctly.

Verify Enrollment

  • Open the menu in the top left-hand corner of the Mobile Guardian App and select "About." This screen will show the name of the District the device is enrolled to and the active profile on the device.
  • As a District Administrator, you will see the device has enrolled onto the District. 

Student sign-in and enrolment completion

  • Select the Sign in option
  • Enter the email address and password of the student created in your Organisational Unit that was sync’d to your school.

 

  • After entering the login details, continue with the installation prompts by selecting “I Agree”.
  • The Mobile Guardian About screen opens, requiring you to select Sign In
  • Once you have selected Sign In the user will be signed in and the option to sign out will appear.
  • View the enrolled device by selecting the Devices tab.
  • View the added student and linked device on the Students tab
