Student Screen Share on Android Devices
Screen share on Android works for both regular Android devices, AMA enrolled devices and EMM-enrolled devices. Follow these steps to enable screen sharing in your classroom:
Start the Class:

Start a class containing an Android device. This will prompt the student's Android device, requesting access to share their screens.
- Example of message: “Start recording or casting with Mobile Guardian”
Student Approval:
- Students should select Start Now to start sharing their screens.
View Shared Screens:
- Once sharing is complete, the student screens will be displayed on your classroom dashboard.
Student Screen Share on Chromebook
Running a Chromebook classroom with screen share is similar to Android. Follow these steps:
Start the Class:
- Start your class containing Chromebook student devices.
- If Force Join is enabled, devices will automatically join the class, triggering a prompt on students' devices to share their screens. This prompt must be accepted by the student.
Student Approval:
- If Force Join is not enabled, students will need to click Join Now and then accept the prompt to share their screens.
View Shared Screens:
- Once accepted, their device displays will appear on your dashboard.
Teacher Sharing Screen to Class
Teachers can share their screens with all students' ChromeOS, Android and Windows devices in the class.
Select Devices:
- In your active class, select All to present to all devices, or choose specific devices to share your screen with.
Share My Screen:
- Click on the Share My Screen option on your dashboard.
Confirm Sharing:
- A confirmation prompt will appear. Click Share my screen to proceed.
Choose Sharing Option:
A Google window will appear with the following options:
- Chrome Tab: Select from open Chrome tabs.
- Window: Select from your current windows.
- Entire Screen: Share your entire screen.
Start Sharing:
- Once you've selected your sharing option, click the Share button.
- Your screen will now be viewable on the selected devices.
Teacher Sharing Individual Student Device Screen to Class
Teachers can share an individual student's screen with the rest of the class. This is useful for presentations or demonstrations.
Select Student's Screen:
- In your active class, hover over the student’s device card and select Share Student's screen.
- A notification will appear on the student card, showing that the student is sharing their screen.
Stop Sharing:
- Once done, hover over the student’s device card and select Share Student's screen again, which will be highlighted.
