This article guides you through enrolling an iOS device in the Mobile Guardian platform using the provided URL or QR Code. This method is beneficial for trialling Mobile Guardian and quickly enrolling a device. Since it requires only a URL or QR code scan, you can use this method to enrol devices individually. The entire process should take just a few minutes per device.

Follow the steps below for detailed instructions on how to enrol an iOS device using a URL and QR scan:
Step 1
Open your Mobile Guardian Dashboard and log in.
On the left-hand side panel select “Devices”
On the drop-down menu below, select “Add new school device”
Step 2
The Add New School Device screen will be displayed. Select the iOS tab as shown below:
URL
Open the Safari browser on the device and enter the URL provided. This unique URL for the school can be used to enrol all devices using this method. Press Enter after inserting the URL to start the enrollment process on the device.
QR Code
Open the camera, face it towards the screen, and scan the QR Code.
Step 3
- After scanning the QR code on the device, you will see a message asking if you want to allow the download of a configuration profile. Select Allow.
- You will be redirected to Safari. Close the notification that appears once the profile has been downloaded.
- Open the device settings. Below the profile sign-in tab, tap on Profile Downloaded at the bottom of the right-hand side menu.
- Tap on the profile (Mobile Guardian), then select Install in the top right of the pop-up box. A window will appear; tap Install again.
- You will be redirected back to Safari. Where you'll be prompted to allow or ignore the download of a Configuration Profile. Tap on, Allow.
- Another pop-up will appear advising you that the profile has been downloaded. Tap close to clear the notification and then navigate back to the device's Settings.
- A pop-up will appear in settings, prompting you to install the Profile. Tap install.
- You will be redirected back to Safari, where you will be prompted to allow or ignore the download of a configuration profile. Tap Allow. Another pop-up will appear advising you that the profile has been downloaded. Tap Close to clear the notification.
- Navigate back to the device's settings. A pop-up will appear, prompting you to install the profile. Tap Install. A warning window will pop up; select Install.
- A Remote Management popup will appear regarding the remote management of the device. Select Trust, followed by Done.
- On the home screen of an unsupervised device, you might see a pop-up telling you that the Mobile Guardian Application is about to be installed. Simply tap Install to complete the process. On a supervised device, the application will be pushed through automatically and will be installed on the device.
- After this, the device will be managed on the Mobile Guardian platform.
Step 4
Navigate to the All Devices menu item on the Mobile Guardian Dashboard to view the list of devices. The enrolled device will appear in this list if the enrollment process is successful.
Step 5
To verify, check the Type column for the enrollment icon:
If this icon appears, the device will be enrolled.
