Mobile Guardian has integrated Google Drive into the Classroom management dashboard, allowing you to share files with your students during class sessions.
Benefits of Google Drive Integration
Google Drive lets you:
- Store files securely online.
- Access files from anywhere.
- Collaborate with others.
How to Use Google Drive Integration
Start Your Class
Google Drive integration is only available during an active class. Start your class and navigate to the Google Drive icon on your dashboard.
Authorize the Link
Authorize the linking between Mobile Guardian and your Google Drive to start sharing files.
Access Your Google Drive
After completing the authorization, you will see your Google Drive.
#Note: You can only share files that are owned by you.
Select and Share Files
Select the files you want to share and click "Select." A notification will be sent to the students' devices, making the files available for viewing. You can share files using the Push Content instant action.
File Accessibility by OS
Different file formats will be accessible via different channels on students' devices. Below is a breakdown by OS:
Android
- Google Docs/Slides/Sheets, MP4, MP3, PNG: Automatically open with a preview and provide a download button.
- Other Formats (e.g., .zip, .exe): No preview but can be downloaded.
ChromeOS
- Google Docs/Slides/Sheets: Automatically open.
- Audio, Video, Text Formats (PDF, MP4, MP3, PNG): Open with a preview and provide a download button.
iOS

- MP4, PDF, PNG: Automatically open with a preview and provide a download button.
- MP3: Opens the audio in a separate tab when downloaded.
Important Note on File Sharing and Privacy
At the end of your class session, all files shared via Google Drive will revert to their previous sharing/privacy settings. If a file was private before sharing, it will revert to being private and will not be accessible after class.
To ensure students can access homework files outside of the class session, make those files public after your class.
