Jailbroken devices allow students to run untrusted code or to delay software updates on iOS or Android devices. The Mobile guardian application can detect when a device has been jailbroken and alert the school administrator.
When an iOS or Android device has been jailbroken, the school dashboard will alert the administrator. The jailbroken device will display a red thunderbolt indicator (red lighting icon). When the jailbroken device is repaired, this indicator will resume to display in grey.
The jailbroken indicator will display in two different places on the dashboard:
- Device list
- The device details screen
The below is an example of the indicator appearing in the device list, the indicator will on appear in red if the device has been Jailbroken.
Below is the example of a normal state in the device detail screen.
