Different schools have different policies regarding how students join classes. Mobile Guardian provides flexibility for both schools and teachers to decide on the best approach. Here's how you can manage the Automatic Class Join feature and force transfer students between classes.
Pre-requisites:
- Automatic Class Join enabled by the school admin.
- Teacher Override option enabled for Force Join.
Automatic Class Join
This feature forces devices to join a started class automatically. It prevents students from missing or joining classes late and continues to force them back into the class if they leave.
Enabling Force Join
- Start Your Class:
- When you select Start class, ensure that the Force Join slider is enabled.
#Note: If you do not see this option, contact your admin to enable it.
- Automatic Joining:
- Once the class is started and the devices are active and online, students' devices will automatically join the class on your classroom view.
Transferring Students with Automatic Class Join
With Automatic Class Join enabled, you can transfer students from one active class to another, ensuring students are in the correct class at the start time.
Steps to Transfer Students:
- Enable Force Join:
- When you select Start class, ensure that the Force Join slider is enabled.
- If it is not, click on it now to enable it.
- Start the Class:
- Click on Start Now when you are ready.
- Handle Active Devices:
- A pop-up will appear informing you that certain devices might be in other classes.
- Select which devices should join your current session.
- Click Transfer once you have selected the devices.
- Transfer Notification:
- The devices will be transferred to your class for the session.
- The other teacher's dashboard will receive a notification about the transfer.
- View Active Students:
- On your dashboard, you should see that the students are now active in your class session.
