The Manage Tabs feature gives you as the teacher the visibility and control of all open tabs running in your class session.
You have the ability to view, open, and dismiss browser tabs on a particular student Chromebook or all students within a session.

Managing Tabs for an Individual Student
Using the following steps you can manage the tabs of a specific student's device.
I. On the individual student's card, click on the Tab Component.
II. This will bring up a more detailed view of the individual student's live screen and open tabs.
To add a tab, simply type the URL in the Input Field provided and click on the + icon.
Your student's device will automatically open up the pushed URL.
Note: To close any unwanted tabs, click on the x (close) icon and it will immediately remove the tab from your students' device.

We can now move onto managing tabs for all students at once.
Managing Tabs for All Students
The multiple tab management view displays a list of all the opened tabs across all the devices in your classroom. The steps below will help you access and manage all the tabs from a single interface.
I. To access tab management, you can select specific students with their tick boxes on the student box, or alternatively, you can use the select All devices for Chromebook.
II. Once you have selected your desired option, click on Manage Tabs from the toolbar which should appear on the top or bottom of the page.
III. In this view, you can see the number of devices running a specific tab. To get a detailed view of which students or devices are on an individual tab, simply click on one of these Top-level domains.
A. Adding Tabs
Adding tabs in this view will add the tab to all the students' devices.
I. Type the URL in the Input Field provided and click the + icon.
B. Focusing Tabs
If you would like to bring focus to a particular tab during a lesson, you can do this by top-level domain or by individual tabs.
I. To focus on a category, click on the Focus icon for that top-level domain e.g Youtube
II. To focus a particular student on a tab, scroll to the relevant students and click on the Focus icon for that tab.
C. Closing Tabs
When a class has a large number of devices or a large number of different tabs open during a session you will be able to close the tabs of all the Chromebook devices.
- The Teacher will have the ability to close all tabs when viewing the tab management feature
- There will be a close "all button tab" on the view all tab for individual Student view and when triggered, All the tabs open on all Chromebooks devices should close
