To ensure a safe and focused learning environment, it's crucial to properly set up YouTube filters. Follow these steps to enable and configure YouTube filters for your class:
- Enable YouTube Filter:
- Ensure that the Enable YouTube filter checkbox is checked.
- Navigate to the YouTube Filter Section:
- Scroll down to the YouTube Filter section.
- Blocklist Categories:
- Under Categories > blocklist, click the Select a category to block list drop-down menu.
- Select a category, e.g., Games.
- Click the Add button to add the category.
- Blocklist Channels:
- Under Channels > blocklist, enter the URL of the channel you want to block list.
- Click the Add button to add the URL.
#Note: You must add the full channel when adding. eg https://www.youtube.com/@channel
- Blocklist Videos:
- Under Videos > blocklist, enter the URL of the video you want to block list.
- Click the Add button to add the URL.

- Allowed list Options:
- Conversely, using the Allowed list options will always allow specified categories or URLs.
- Add desired categories, channels, or videos to the Allowed list by entering their URLs and clicking the Add button.
Tips:
- Use the block list to block inappropriate or distracting content.
- Use the Allowed list to ensure access to essential educational content.
