Setting up Vacation Mode profile

Vacation Mode allows school administrators or parents to apply a pre-created profile to a student's device, overriding any existing profiles or schedules. This feature is particularly useful when students are travelling and changing time zones, as it quickly locks the device into a pre-defined profile without altering existing profile schedules.

Benefits of Vacation Mode

Quick Application: Easily lock the device into a pre-defined profile.

Override Existing Profiles: Overrides any profile or schedule currently applied to the device.

Travel Convenience: Ideal for students travelling abroad and changing time zones.

Audit Log: Displays who and when Vacation Mode was toggled, viewable under the device history tab.

Enabling Vacation Mode on Mobile Guardian

For School Admins

Navigate to the Devices Tab:

• From the School Admin dashboard, go to the Devices tab.

Select Applicable Devices:

• Choose the devices you want to apply Vacation Mode to.

Click the Actions Tab Dropdown:

• In the Actions dropdown menu, Scroll down and click Vacation Mode.

Enable Vacation Mode:

• Select enable and confirm it.
• You will be able to view the change in the Bulk Action Queue, select yes or no

Bulk action queue:

• You will see the process has been completed.

Vacation mode verification:

• All devices with vacation mode enabled will have a suitcase icon before the device name.

For Parents

• Vacation Mode for the Parent Dashboard needs to be enabled by parent permissions on the School Admin Dashboard.
