When enrolling a large number of devices, manually renaming each one can be a daunting task. simplifying the enrollment process.
Using the auto-naming feature in Mobile Guardian streamlines the device enrollment process, especially when dealing with a large number of devices. Mobile Guardian offers an auto-naming feature that allows devices to name themselves in sequential order. This ensures efficient management and easy identification of all enrolled devices.
How to Set Up Auto-Naming
Step 1:
- Log in to Mobile Guardian
- Go to Settings
- Select Global Preferences
Step 2:
- On the Global Preferences page, locate the auto-naming toggle on the bottom left-hand side.
- Turn the auto-naming toggle on.
- Enter an Auto-Naming Prefix
- In the field below the auto-naming toggle, enter your desired prefix for the device names.
As devices are enrolled, they will be named using this prefix followed by a sequential number.
Example: If you enter Mobile Guardian Secondary iPad - as the prefix, the devices will be named Mobile Guardian Secondary iPad - 1, Mobile Guardian Secondary iPad - 2, etc.
Step 3:
These auto-generated names will appear in the device list view and device detail view, making it easier to identify and reference each device.
