Android Zero-Touch Dashboard Setup
To successfully enrol Zero-Touch Devices into the Mobile Guardian Ecosystem, you must establish an enrolment method and then connect the Zero-Touch account to enable the setup of any Zero-Touch devices.
There are two parts to the setup. The dashboard setup and the device setup.
Dashboard Setup Guide:
The following settings will walk you through the process of configuring the Mobile Guardian Dashboard efficiently to facilitate the enrolment of Zero-Touch Devices.
Navigate to " Settings " on the Mobile Guardian Dashboard
Select " Android Settings "
On the dashboard please navigate to Settings > Android Settings > select Mobile Guardian Managed Account Enrolment. (Please note not G.Suite)
Follow the on-screen instructions and click "Enrol".
During the setup, you will be automatically redirected to the "Bring Android to work" page.
Make sure to log in using a "Gmail" account, not a "G.Suite" account, and then click "Get started" to continue.
Select Complete Registration.
After completing registration the following Android EMM Settings configuration page will appear, and you'll need to make the following selections:
- DEFAULT APPLICATION RUNTIME PERMISSION: Auto grant
- SYSTEM UPDATE POLICY: Automatic
- ACTIVE DIRECTORY INTEGRATION: Un-Authenticated
Once you've chosen these options, please proceed by clicking the "Save" button.
After saving the changes in the Android EMM Settings configuration we need to proceed in linking your Zero Touch account to your Mobile Guardian Dashboard.
Navigate to Link your zero-touch account to your EMM provider and select Next
Select your account and click link
Congratulations! Your Zero-Touch Account has been successfully linked, and below, you'll find a summary of the linked account on the Mobile Guardian Dashboard:
Zero-Touch Account: This section will show your Account ID.
Configuration Info: Here, you can view the number of devices linked to the account that have the policy applied.
Support Info: This section contains the information that users or students will see when enrolling their devices.
Important: Please ensure that you select "Save " once the account is linked to the dashboard.
Note: When you're removing the configuration from Android EMM Settings, it is highly recommended to first unlink the Zero-Touch Account before proceeding to use the un-enrol option found at the bottom of the Android EMM Settings screen on the Mobile Guardian Dashboard.
Device Setup Process
Android Zero-Touch Enrolment:
- Zero-touch enrolment is a method for IT admins to set up Android devices for schools.
- When an Android device is turned on for the first time, it automatically checks for Mobile Guardian configuration.
- If the settings are found, the device becomes fully managed and downloads a Mobile Guardian App throughout the Zero-Touch setup wizard.
- This approach streamlines the setup of multiple devices for Schools.
- It ensures a quick, easy, and secure roll-out for IT teams.
Device Enrolment Setup:
On a new or factory-reset device when an Android device is turned on it automatically checks for Mobile Guardian configuration.
When it boots up it will display on the screen that the device is part of an Organisation.
Select next to proceed with the setup wizard.
Navigate to Install work apps and select Install.
Navigate to Configure Mobile Guardian and select Setup.
To complete the setup the user needs to scan the second QR code(Account Code) .
Select your Dashboard Region and then tap scan.
Accept "I accept and agree to the Privacy and Terms".
Enter the students Name and Surname then select Login.
After successfully installing the Mobile Guardian app, you'll be directed to a screen where you'll be prompted to provide usage access to the app. You'll need to authorise the following permissions:
- Device Admin
- Package Usage Stats
- System Alert Window
After granting permissions, tap " Continue ".
The Mobile Guardian application will open to finalise the registration, press the back button to redirect you to the home screen.
Please note that on some devices, a restart may occur shortly after registration to apply device policies.
You have successfully enrolled your device with Mobile Guardian.
